365 Days And Company

I know I missed posting yesterday. We had company for a few days (BIL Rick and daughter Nikki) and we spent our time in actual conversation and movie watching... And then Rick helped DG get her christmas 2007 002USB turntable hooked up to the non-wireless laptop so she can record all her albums to a hard drive.

Dogs find recording vinyl records onto a digital medium extremely boring as evidenced by the photo at right.

There was actually some progress on the wireless front. DG spent another hour on the phone with Tech Support and convinced them that it wasn't a problem with McAfee. When they found that we had not registered McAfee after restoring following a previous failed attempt at wireless repair they insisted that in order for the wireless to work properly McAfee had to be registered. They finally gave in and admitted that there was a problem with the wireless card because at this point we don't even have a wireless light.

The wireless was only kinda screwed before we first called Pakistan or India or where ever this "Tech Support" is located. Now the catcher doesn't see any type of router, the wireless light will not even come on and the computer takes about 10 minutes to shut down or boot up and 20 minutes to restart. Nice job of outsourcing Dell. christmas 2007 003

At left is what it looks like while a girl in Pakistan finishes breaking your laptop.

Over the holiday, Rick, DG and Nikki made me watch the Happy Feet movie (yes the cartoon with the Penguins that dance... did I mention that they made me watch it?) and then we (Rick and I) watched 1408 the movie adaptation of Steven Kings short story from the collection titled Everything's Eventual. Not a bad flick.

So I didn't post.... but soon that will not be happening.....

I have joined a (currently) small group of bloggers that have committed to post at least once every day in 2008.

This is going to really be a challenge. I will try very hard not to do any drive-by posting. I hope to make sure each post has some value to someone. I am looking forward to the next year and I hope that each of you reading this will attempt to check in everyday and help keep me honest.

If you enjoy what you read here please tell a friend and send them a link. The more the merrier.
