KFC Sucks (If they could suck any more they would be KFV Kentucky Fried Vacuum)

I picked up lunch from Kentucky Fried Chicken today. Well in reality I picked up trash can filler at Kentucky Fried Chicken today.

$25.00 plus change for a bucket of 12 Tender Crispy Strips (in meal form which included Mashed Potatoes and gravy, biscuits as well as green beans. I also added a large coleslaw and two Hot Apple Pies.

When I arrived at home and began un-plastic sacking the food I found the following:

  • Chicken strips that were not only not crispy but it also appeared that they had been cooked a few days prior and left to congeal at the bottom of the fry basket.
  • Mashed Potatoes and gravy that were only mashed potatoes ...
  • And hot apple pies that were not hot and again appeared to be covered in some type of congealed grease that had actually soaked through the paper sleeve they are provided in and was actually dripping down in top of everything in the bucket because the lid of the bucket was "punched" down into the bucket.

Here are some comparison photos.

Note the piece of "crispy" that slid off the strip.

The surface of the strip was like a vegetable oil coated Slipin' Slide.

Potatoes seen in right half of photo. As you can see we even excavated looking for gravy....

The green beans were not bad, they were cold but not bad.... How can you screw up cold green beans after all?

I was actually going to try and salvage the fried pie.... I was hungry and desperate. But alas I could not wrestle the pie from the sleeve. The sleeve had attached itself to the pie like a scab.

On their best day KFC potatoes are akin to watery nursing home style mashed potatoes. But I like the gravy and it covers up the nasty taste of the potatoes and gives a legitimate reason for the potatoes to be thin enough to drink. Without the gravy the potatoes revert to their natural state, which is simply to gag for..... we are talking putrid.

I think maybe it is time to call the health department...... Wait Oklahoma doesn't have a real health department.... hence the recent sickness and death in eastern Oklahoma at the Country Cottage restaurant in Locust Grove.

I am finished with KFC and their sister company Taco Bell. Earlier in the week Taco Bell shorted us a taco supreme ($1.09). Really how hard is it to match a receipt to the food as it is placed in the bag?
